I have known John for almost 35 years from our early days at Boston College. John was a really special guy and I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to have worked with him at Taurus for several years. His spirit will live on with his BC crew. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ace John Carroll Jr. of Clinton, Tennessee, who passed away on January 7, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was a skilled grill master, and loved to share his expertise with family and friends at parties and events. He could often be found on his front porch with a history book, a crossword, and the newspaper. John served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. Some of his happiest moments were with his love, Kelly on their boat, Two Seas, in Manchester-by-the-Sea. He was the cherished partner of Susan Pawelek, his best friend whom he loved dearly. I owe them much for their example, kindnesses and the loan of their son for 4 of the best years of my life. John's wry sense of humor and ability to make light of the daily challenges and opportunities we were experiencing led to a series of inside jokes and catch phrases we shared and were also quickly adopted by our growing circle of friends. Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by: brother Thomas Calvin Carroll, Jr.; grandparents Thomas and Lillie Belle Carroll; grandparents Richard and Charlsie Cady; and nephew Jonathan David King. At the first of this year, John made a life-changing commitment to God. He is survived by : his wife Carol; his children, Colton Carroll (Haley Burnett), Brandon Carroll (Jenna), Ace John Carroll III (Heather) and Misty Brown (David); his grandchildren, Darby, Tom, Jake, Mollie, Maggie of Grayson, A.
